Tustin Western Select

Tustin Western Little League has always worked hard to keep up with changes in youth baseball while staying true to its mission: helping players grow as not just as baseball players but also as individuals. Over the past few years, we've seen more and more players join our league, especially younger players ages 5-10. At the same time, many families are starting to focus more on baseball year-round, and some are turning to expensive travel programs for more competitive games in the off-season.

While these travel teams can offer strong competition, they often cost a lot of money, require long travel days, and may not match the values that Tustin Western believes in - teamwork, respect, sportsmanship, and fun. That’s why we created Tustin Western Select, part of the official Little League® District Travel Program.

This program gives advanced players a chance to compete at a higher level after the spring season, but without the stress and cost of travel ball. It keeps our players close to home, connected to our community, and focused on skill improvement while still having fun.

Season & Eligibility

• The season runs from September through December
• Practices begin mid-August
• Teams will be formed for 9U, 10U, 11U, and 12U
• Age groups are based on the Little League 2026 Age Chart
• To join, players must have played at TWLL during the Spring 2025 season or be registered at TWLL for the Spring 2026 season.

Tryouts & Team Selection

Players are required to participate in a competitive tryout in July/August. A committee of experienced coaches will choose 10–12 players per team. Unfortunately, not everyone will make a team. If your player isn’t selected, we strongly encourage joining our Fall Baseball program to keep playing and improving.

Coaching & Practices

All coaches are volunteers approved by the Board of Directors. They are chosen based on their experience and dedication to helping players grow. Practice times and days will be set by each team’s coaches.
