The 13U Tustin All Star team lost in the World Series Championship game last night 5-0 to a team that had a host invitation to the World Series from Riverside, CA.

After defeating Tamiami, FL in the semi-final game 19-9, Tustin ran into a good left-handed pitcher from Riverside that kept Tustin, the top offensive team in the tournament, off balance all night.

Thank you to everyone that came out to cheer us on and listened in to the broadcasts!!  It was a memorable experience for all.  Even though the boys were disappointed not to win the World Championship, 2nd place was a remarkable achievement!

North-South Division Play Off Final Results:

Ok, so it was 7-0 Tustin, and you left the game early, and now you want to know the results...

O.k., I'll give...

This time Rancho San Diego was behind 7-0 after 3.5 innings, and for the first time in this tournament, they're mounting the comeback. They work it back to 7-2 after 4 innings, then tied the game 7-7 after 5! Now we have a 1 inning game for all the marbles. Tustin Western scores two runs in the top of the 7th to take the lead again. Rancho San Diego starts off the bottom of the seventh with a base hit. The next batter flies out to left-center with an awesome catch by Tustin Western. Next a hit, then a force out grounder to third. Now it's runners on first and second, and RSD has one of their BIG guys up. I mean BIG.. three home runs in the tournament.. as a 10 YO! One of the pitches was a passed ball, and the runners advance to second and third. The big guy works the count full. A base hit could tie it.. a home run could win it... and now comes the pay-off pitch...

..a fly ball to deep right field..

she is...

Caught!

Tustin Western wins the Championship!

Whoah nelly, what a finish.

As always, Congratulations to both teams playing. They put on a great show this weekend.
